With absolute no intention of having mexican food we happen to stop by this restaurant around closing time. Still we were greeted well and to our amuse the food was super fresh (ingredients used) and awesome. We placed order for shrimp tacos, PINACOLADA , handcrafted beer and churros. The quality & quantity was good. Will definitely visit again with empty bellies next time.
The flight of margaritas was awesome, and I had the fajitas. Wow !! Steak, shrimp, and chicken, with a big pile of cheese, guac, sour cream, salsa. Enough for at least SIX fajitas. This was one of the best Mexican dinners I've had. Deliciousness.🤩
Pleasantly surprised at the amount of decent Mexican food in and around Downingtown. I like this location a good deal. It has things some of the other Mexican places around here don't have, for example alcoholic beverages and lots of comfortable seating.
I liked the birria a bit more at Habanero Express, my husband liked the chicken fajita more here than El Tarasco, the flan is better at El Limon, and I don't like that they don't even have tres leches cake.
I would advise them to warn customers when they order an alcoholic drink on how big the drink actually is. I didn't really like my drink so I had to give it to my husband. The prices were ok for things like the drinks and desserts but the food you can get a bit cheaper at some other locations. It honestly depends on your flavor preferences.
I would definitely come here again to try other items and I'd also recommend they get a happy hour to bring in more customers. I know their bar is tiny but I think they could work around that.
Also the cleanliness needs some work especially the women's bathroom. It didn't even have a door handle...
I recently tried Casa Herrera for the first time and I was not disappointed. The restaurant has an authentic feel to it and the food options are typical to what you'd expect at a Mexican dish restaurant.
The birria tacos are a big hit with my family. Both my mother and wife absolutely love them. They have many different options including some for individuals with dietary restrictions.
The food felt very fresh and had wonderful flavor. The portions sizes were fairly large so I recommend skipping the appetizers if you fill up quickly, especially since the dessert options are pretty great. We ordered churros with ice cream, and that was definitely the best way to end the meal.
Overall, definitely recommend for individuals who like authentic Mexican dishes and enjoy the spices of Latin America.
Really attentive waitress. Food was delicious! I got the shrimp and chicken fajitas, my son got a cheese quesadilla, and my husband got the beef chimichangas! We also ordered the queso which was also amazing. The red sangria was done perfectly. Highly recommend!!
I've been here twice, and it has all been excellent! The salsa Verde is yummy, the burritos delicious, and even the rice and beans make you want to eat up every bite. Also try the cactus for something different and interesting. The chips and salsa are also the best!
Can't say enough great things about this place. Food is amazing and most authentic I could find since spending so much time in Mexico and southern California. Service is always top notch, and this place is great if it's just the family or a date night. We also attended a 40th birthday party here, and they did that well also!
The food is good Americanized Mexican Fair. Service is very good. Fajitas are awesome. Seasoning is for the American Palate. Salsa was canned (not made fresh). Cilantro would be a good addition to many of the dishes. For the price I would expect a selection of hot sauces to be available to choose from. The mole sauce appeared not made fresh (from can) and didn't have the rich flavor one would generally expect. Missing peanut butter?
